How to Manage Categories?

Manage existing categories from the Merchant Web or Merchant Mobile App. You can view, edit, delete, activate, deactivate, and preview categories.

Step-by-Step Guide

Web App

1. Open Categories: Log in to the Merchant Web application and go to Catalog → Categories.
2. View Categories: The Categories page displays all categories created for your store.
3. Filter Categories: Use Search, Status, or HasProducts to find categories.
4. Open Category Details: Select a category from the list to view its complete information. You can also select Edit from the Category Details page.
5. Open Category Actions: Select the Action Menu (⋮) for a category to View, Edit, Activate/Deactivate, or Delete the category.
6. Edit a Category: Select Edit from the Action Menu or Category Details page, update the required details, and select Update Category.
7. Delete a Category: Select Delete from the Action Menu, then select Delete to confirm.
8. Activate or Deactivate a Category: Use the category visibility setting.
   • Enabled: The category is visible in the storefront, and customers can browse products under it.
   • Disabled: The category remains available in the Merchant Dashboard but is hidden from the storefront.

Mobile App

1. Open Catalog: Log in to the Merchant Mobile App and select Catalog from the bottom navigation bar.
2. Open Categories: On the Catalog screen, select the Categories tab.
3. View Categories: The Categories page displays all categories in your store, including the count of active categories and the count of products across the catalog.
4. Filter Categories: Use Active categories or Inactive categories to filter the category list.
5. Open Category Details: Select a category to view its complete information and the products associated with that category.
6. Edit a Category: Select Edit at the bottom of the Category Details page, update the required details, and select Update Category.
7. Delete a Category: Select Delete in the bottom-left corner, then select Delete to confirm.
8. Manage Customer Visibility: Use the visibility setting to control whether the category is visible to customers.
   • Enabled: The category is visible in the storefront, and customers can browse products under it.
   • Disabled: The category remains available in the Merchant Dashboard but is hidden from the storefront.
9. Preview a Category: Select Preview in Store to see how the category is displayed on the storefront.
